Northern Nevada HOPES – Trans* Services

HOPES opened its services to the general population, and are encouraging the local (Northern Nevada) Trans* community to visit the clinic which provides primary care, mental health services, and resources. HOPES also has a pharmacy on site for insured patients’ convenience. HOPES takes many insurance types as well as no insurance; the clinic provides a sliding fee scale based on income and household size for provider visits and labs completed on site.

TRANS in Northern Nevada 
A Facebook group is for Transgender people in Northern Nevada as well as their friends, family, and supporters. Stay connected and up to date on upcoming events, meetings, medical information, and anything else that may pertain to the Trans community.

TAG – Transgender Allies Group 
TAG is a network of allies providing education, resources, counseling, advocacy and support of transgender individuals and families in order to ensure equality, integration, and an exceptional quality of life for all transgender people in Northern Nevada.

HOMIEs (Hands on Movement Including Everyone) – We will provide a safe space for LGBTQ youth and their friends. We will encourage participation by focusing on different aspects of community outreach. We actively assist youth in determining short term and long term goals while promoting unity within our community.

TrueChild
TrueChild is an action tank of leading experts that promotes gender transformativeapproaches to reproductive health, gender-based violence, and educational achievement. This is done because challenging harmful codes of femininity and masculinity has been shown to be the key to improving life outcomes for at-risk youth, like those who are of color, LGBTQ, or in under-resourced communities.

The Transgender Aging Network
The Transgender Aging Network (TAN) exists to improve the lives of current and future trans/SOFFA (significant others, friends, family and allies) elders by: promoting awareness of concerns, issues, and realities of trans/SOFFA aging among service providers, researchers, advocates, health care professionals, the lesbian/gay/bisexual and trans communities, and other relevant audiences.

PFLAG’s Transgender Network – or TNET – specifically focuses on support for transgender people and their parents, families, and friends. It provides education on some issues unique to the transgender community, and focuses on issue advocacy to ensure equal rights for the transgender community at local and national levels.

Gender Spectrum
Gender Spectrum provides consultation, training and events designed to help families, educators, professionals, and organizations understand and address the concepts of gender identity and expression. Our accessible, practical approach is based on research and experience, enabling our clients to gain a deeper understanding of gender all along the spectrum.

Transgender Law Center
Transgender Law Center works to change law, policy, and attitudes so that all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression.

The Transgender Law and Policy Institute
A non-profit organization dedicated to engaging in effective advocacy for transgender people in our society. The TLPI brings experts and advocates together to work on law and policy initiatives designed to advance transgender equality.

Survivor Project
Survivor Project exists to advocate for intersex and trans survivors of domestic and sexual violence. They compile and generate materials addressing issues specific to serving intersex and trans survivors in a gender-segregated service community. Survivor Project makes available a number of resources and services to non-profit organizations, government agencies, and individuals working within the field.
